It is barely even Summer and my boys are already asking if we can stop at the local snow cone place or flag down the ice cream man so they can spend my hard earned money on over-priced, frozen sugar. I decided to bring the snow cone place and ice cream man on into my house and have the boys help me whip up some snow cones. It is really quite simple, especially if you do the hard part first!
- ¾ Cup white sugar
- ¾ Cup Water
- 1 packet of Kool Aid
- Simple Syrup
- 4-5 Cups of Ice
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and summer for 3 minutes
- Remove from heat and stir in Kool Aid packet flavor of your choice.
- Place in resealable 12 oz squirt bottle.
- **Can be refrigerated for up to 1 month!
- Place 4-5 cups of ice cubes into blender using long pulses until fine snow is formed.
- Scoop into your desired dish and pour on Simple Syrup!
**I will update this with pictures as soon as I can get some – I have a problem remembering to take pictures, in the meantime please enjoy the picture from Flicker.

I just wanted to tell you that you have a fantastic site. It’s been fun to follow. I’ve written you a Alexa review. If you have time I’d appreciate a review of my site http://www.watchmeplayandlearn.com/. If you don’t that’s ok. I imagine running after 3 boys would be time consuming.
Love this!
My boys and hubby are snow cone fanatics.

Ah! This is such a brilliant idea! I keep seeing those sno-cone makers around but I never really wanted to spend the money. I’m so glad to know you can do it with just your blender, yay! I’d be thrilled if you’d share this recipe over at my current link party so everyone can make some this summer! http://practicallyfunctional.net/2012/06/the-fun-in-functional-link-party-2/

Yum! I had to check out this one because I used to spend my summers making snowcones at my families snowcone business. I’ll have to try this out!
